What Would You Do? Changing Ethics in America: John Quiñones

What Would You Do? Changing Ethics in America: John Quiñones

The Emmy award-winning ABC TV journalist and host of the popular “What Would You Do?” prime time series asks us, individually and as a nation, to take a good look in the mirror. What do we do when we witness injustice, racism, bullying? Do we step in or do we step aside? Has the tenor of the 2016 campaign season affected how we respond? Having grown up in a poor family of migrant workers to become ABC's first Latino correspondent and a seven-time Emmy Award winner, Quiñones draws on his own powerful story to challenge his audience to think.

All Voices of Democracy events are free and open to the public, but entrance tickets required. This event is part of BW’s Enduring Questions: The Mark Collier Lecture Series. Read more...

Kansas Health Foundation 2016 Health Symposium: Reshaping our Reality

The Kansas Health Foundation is based in Wichita, but statewide is its focus. With a mission to improve the health of all Kansans, KHF envisions a culture in which every Kansan can make healthy choices where they live, work and play. To achieve this, the Foundation focuses its grantmaking in two primary program areas: Health Equity, with the goal of reducing health disparities related to social and economic factors; and Civic Health, in order to inspire, inform and equip Kansans to be engaged in improving the health of our state.

On June 9-10, 2016, the Foundation will continue the opportunity for Kansans to join us in the battle for a healthier Kansas with the Kansas Health Foundation Symposium, “Reshaping our Reality”. This two-day event will feature renowned keynote speakers such as author Robert Putnam and John Quiñones, host of ABC’s What Would You Do?. Space is limited, but registration will be open to anyone interested in and committed to a healthier Kansas.

The symposium is being coordinated by the Wichita State University Conference Office.  For questions about the symposium, please contact 316-978-6493 or conference.office@wichita.edu.
