On Oct. 28, we will be gathering at the Orange Beach Event Center to present diplomas to more than 700 graduates in front of more than 3,000 guests. We are excited to announce that this year’s keynote speaker is broadcast journalist and TV host of “What Would You Do?” John Quinones! Additionally, we will be having our alumni social event the evening of Oct. 27 at the Gulf State Park Pavilion beside the beautiful Gulf of Mexico sunset. News anchor John Quiñones to speak at UVU’s 75th Commencement

The Board of Trustees at Utah Valley University has announced seven-time Emmy Award-winning anchor John Quiñones will speak at the University’s 75th Commencement on April 28. UVU’s commencement begins at 6:30 p.m. in the UCCU Center in Orem.

“John Quiñones is well-known and respected for his distinguished career in television news, but it’s his inspirational attitude even when the cameras aren’t rolling that will capture the attention of our graduates this year,” said UVU President Matthew S. Holland. “He has overcome considerable obstacles to make a lasting impression on a competitive industry.”

UVU’s Board of Trustees also announced it will honor the following individuals with honorary doctoral degrees: Utah Supreme Court Justice Christine Durham, Vivint CEO Todd Pedersen, and Utah State Tax Commissioner John Valentine.
